As a Churchill Fellowship Recipient Liana has recently travelled to 6 countries to investigate best practices in mathematics education. Her dedication to equity and excellence in education make her a respected and admired figure in Adelaide and beyond.

Liana McCurry is a dedicated primary school educator based in Adelaide, South Australia. With a passion for fostering young minds and a commitment to excellence and equity in education, she has made a profound impact on the lives of her students and the local community.


Liana's educational journey began with a Bachelor's degree in Education, followed by extensive professional development in the field. Her educational background, coupled with her innate love for teaching, has allowed her to inspire and engage young learners throughout her career.


With over a decade of teaching experience, Liana has worked in various primary school settings, gaining a wealth of knowledge and expertise in curriculum development, classroom management, and student-centred learning. Her ability to create a stimulating and nurturing learning environment has consistently yielded outstanding results, both academically and socially, for her students.


In addition to her work inside the classroom, Liana has been actively involved in educational leadership, serving as a mentor to fellow educators, participating in curriculum committees, and presenting at conferences to promote effective literacy and numeracy practices. Her dedication to professional development has led her to stay current with the latest educational trends and best practices.


Liana McCurry's commitment to her students and the field of education is unwavering, and she continues to be a source of inspiration to both her colleagues and the young minds she nurtures. Outside of her professional life, Liana enjoys spending time with her family, and her dog Dougie. Her and her husband enjoy travelling and have ventured to 49 countries.
